But my Italian friend told me, Italian is like French....

When his French friend comes over, they understand each other most of the time.... very weird

I think it's much more difficult than english. For strangers it's not so simple to put the correct verbs in the right form! (Sometimes it's hard even for italian people )

They say Dutch is a VERY difficult language..... i think ten times more difficult than Italian...... also the verbs

For example..... "Hond"

It means dog..... then you put a "D" behind it but you pronouce it as ''t''

And sometimes you write a "T" instead of "" Like in kat'' (cat)


Or het and de (both means the)
