Domanda da ignorante: che differenze ci sono rispetto al tanto acclamato (e costosissimo) Canon EF-s 24/105 is f4 L ??

il 18-135 non ? propriamente una buona lente....al contrario il 24-105 ? una serie L e da risultati completamente diversi

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS may be somewhat better than the EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS but it's not exactly a good lens either. The resolution makes a rather wild roller coaster ride through the different quality levels. Large aperture settings should be generally avoided at 18mm and beyond the middle range - the borders/corners are plain soft here. However, to be fair the lens is actually quite usable at f/8 (18mm) and f/11 (70mm+). It's also a good idea to stop down a little in order to overcome the rather heavy vignetting problems at max. aperture. Lateral CAs are somewhat more obvious at 18mm, especially in the corners, but this is a general problem in this lens class. The level of barrel distortions is extreme at 18mm, less so at other focal lengths.
There's little to complain about the build quality which is about average, no more and no less. The AF is pretty fast despite relying on a conventional DC motor rather than USM. This applies to phase-detection AF mode - it's much worse (slow) in LiveView (contrast AF). All-in-all it's not one of the more desirable lenses on the market and it's really surprising to see that this lens is bundled with the EOS 7D which is even more demanding in terms of required lens quality than the EOS 50D used for this test.

Regarding its equivalent zoom range (39-168mm) on an APS-C DSLR the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 USM L IS may not be the most sexy lens here but its performance figures are very impressive nonetheless. In fact the resolution results beat those from the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L and match the EF 28-70mm f/2.8 USM L with its much more conservative zoom range (but higher speed). There's a slight decrease in performance at 105mm but even here the quality remains on a very high level. As to be expected from a modern Canon L lens the construction quality is up to pro standards matching its fasters cousins. The lower price tag plus the extra IS should compensate the slightly more moderate max. aperture for most users. Is it a perfect lens then ? Well, there're also downsides like pronounced barrel distortions and higher than expected CAs at the wide-end of the zoom range. However, the package remains extremely attractive if you can live with the rather unattractive zoom range on an APS-C DSLR - similar to other 28-xx or 24-xx zooms this lens is really more meant for 1.3x or FF (D)SLRs.

Io faccio cosi ... al di là delle varie opinioni e descrizioni tecniche .

Prima però dovresti acculturarti meglio nella teoria della fotografia ... secondo me .

Prima per? dovresti acculturarti meglio nella teoria della fotografia ... secondo me .

Si lele per?...tutte le ottiche fanno ottime foto a diaframmi controllati, in condizioni controllate e con luce buona. La differenza c'? quando si vuole un vetro che con poca luce funzioni, metta a fuoco..non spappoli i bordi..sia veloce nella messa a fuoco..e abbia un'apertura tale da riuscire a focheggiare quando il sole va a patate nei campi.
A vedere le foto gia fatte di altri ci vuol poco a dire ? un buon vetro..le recensioni servono per capire i difetti e dove ci sono..se poi tali difetti non ci toccano perche non scatteremo mai in tali condizioni ? un altro conto....
Anche come sono fatte le lamelle interne, se sono arrotondate o spigolose..se sono 9 o 6..

lele, come qualità, il 17-55 è meglio... è 2.8 ed è più definito... solo che si ferma a 55mm... se a te basta allora prendilo

oppure compra il 24-105... e poi rivendimelo a metà prezzo

beh il 17-40 è quello che usa mio fratello 99 volte su 100 .. quando non usa il 24-105...quindi entrambi sono acquisti MOLTO validi

Ragazzi non mi aiutate cosi

il 17-40 è deciosamente troppo corto e se dovessi scegliere tra quello ed il 17-55 sceglierei senza abtter ciglio il 17-55 .

Il 17-55 vince su tutti i fronti delle mie esigenze ... ma il 24-105 ... appunto arriva a 105 ! caxxo !

Il fatto che parta da 24 non mi crea problemi in quanto ho il 10-22 che rimpiazza bene .

Cmq tra qualche anno li avrò entrambi ... sicuro

dopo questo , dovrò comrparmi un bel Macro o un Flash anulare ... ma si parla di Luglio 2011
